These are nice and do what they need to do. I'm bummed because as soon as I followed the first instruction on unbolting the hood nuts, the hood shifted and now I've got a scratch on the corner of it. It would have been nice to know that beforehand. Just put a rag in between your hood and fender so that this doesn't happen to you. So it was an upgrade but all the fun was taken out of it because of that.

Easy to install and they work perfectly. This should be standard equipment on all these trucks. No more death defying prop rod search in the dark!

Not even a full beer required for install had it done in maybe 5 minutes. Really cleans up the engine bay, and lets the hood open taller compared to the prop rod. Would recommend.

Came in a bit scratched up but working very well.

Fitment and function are perfect as expected. The hood actually opens up more now than with the support rod.

Mounts are solid and the struts exceed my expectations! Strong sturdy setup and I'm absolutely not worried about my hood coming down at all! Would recommend for any Frontier owner that does their own work on, or off the trails!

Great product, should have done this sooner. About 3" more of hood lift and no prop rod in the way. Quality components and exact fit using the original bolts.

This kit is really easy to install, it does not require drilling, just screw the brakets on the hood supports the two pistons are of good quality and solid, they support the weight of the hood well, I recommend this product from Z1-off road, avoid buying the poor quality copies found on Amazon.

Ordered the product Sunday Evening 02/26/2023. Received an email the following morning that the order was processed and packaged and received product Tuesday 02/28/2023. Install was straightforward and took me about 20 minutes. I had read that this product actually raises the lift height of the hood a couple of inches and was a little worried about my aftermarket Ronin Factory Nissan Short antenna making contact with the hood, but at full height there is about 1/8 of an inch clearance. The struts look and work great.

I never thought I'd appreciate something so small as a hood that stays open without a prop but this was perfect.

This is a nice kit and is much nicer then messing with the prop rod and having to work around it. I would have given it 5 stars but these struts have this little wire retaining clip you have to remove and then reinsert once strut is in place. These are a PITA! The 2 on the bottom were very simple and went in very easily. But the ones of the top were a PITA. I spent close to 45 minutes trying to get the top ones in place. I finally took a small hammer and tapped them on to the ball on one the wire retainer went in relatively easily. On the other side I could not get it to seat. After the wire retainer bent the 2nd time I gave up and only have it through the bottom hole. It is bent and sticking out on the far side. LOL. But it works and is retaining the strut. It is great improvement and worth the time and money. But I wish they would switch to a traditional ball retaining system vs. the wire clip these use.

Security pin was hard to install.

Must have mod! I can’t believe this Doesn’t come as standard equipment on a $40k truck, but it should. Love the addition. After installing this we went looking for, found, and installed a tail gate assist, another must have mod!

Easy installation. Only problem I have is there was a burr on one of the end where the locking pin goes and once the end was attached to the bracket I was unable to place the locking pin.

Love the Hood Struts! It looks much better than just a metal stick and gives you more room under the hood to work.

These hood struts perform as advertised. Installation was fairly quick and easy. There were no Installation instructions in the box. However there is installation instructions on a Z1 website. Good value for the money.

I haven't installed this yet but quality looks good.

So good so far. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because when I ordered they were not marked as out of stock or back ordered. But once they shipped I received them in 2 days. Install is a breeze took maybe 10 minutes. Hardest part was getting the small retaining pins back in. Would definitely recommend this product.

I installed these on my 2013 Nissan Frontier SL. Downloaded the instructions from the Z1 website. Pretty straight forward. I didn't time it, but it was probably quicker installing these than me figuring out how to remove the factory prop rod. IMO, these hood struts should have been factory installed. Anyway, money well spent.

This is a great idea. Makes my truck feel like a more high end vehicle. And I don't have to fumble with that hood prop rod anymore.
