Z1 Full Flow Oil Cooler Kit for all LHD '90+ 300zx models.
As summer temperatures increase and the more your Z sees spirited driving whether it be on a curvy back road or on the race track, your oil temperatures will increase accordingly! Increased oil temperatures can not only excessively thin the oil and shorten the life, but will also mean increasing the overall engine temps. By adding an external oil cooler, you can then cool the engine's oil separately and increase the life of your engine.
Kits are customizable and available for both Twin Turbo and Non-Turbo applications. These kits are NOT compatible with RHD models.
Standard items included in the Z1 Motorsports Full Flow Oil Cooler Kit includes the following:
- 1x Z1 Motorsports (-8AN) SS Oil Cooler Line Set
- 1x Z1 Billet Sandwich Plate Adapter (Optional 197°f (92°c) Thermostatic Sandwich Plate available in options below)
- 2x (1/2" Port) to (-8 AN) Fittings
- 2x (-8 AN) to Port Fittings (Fittings vary depending on Core type)
- 4x Zip Ties
- 1x Z1 Procooler or Setrab Oil Cooler Core (Optional)
- 1x Z1 Motorsports Oil Cooler Mounting Bracket & Hardware Kit
* For street driven vehicles that are operated year round, a thermostatic sandwich plate adapter is HIGHLY recommended to help maintain the optimal oil temperature. Having oil temperatures that can are either too HOT or too COLD can be damaging to an engine. A thermostatic sandwich plate adapter houses a valve that operates like a thermostat in your engines cooling system. This will allow the engine oil to warm up properly, then it will slowly open to regulate engine oil temperatures.
TWIN TURBO VERSION
The standard stock oil cooler setup found on the 300ZX Twin Turbo is limited in its ability to cool and flow engine oil. Nissan designed the oil cooler system found on the 300zx Twin Turbo to work in parallel with oil being supplied to the engine, rather than in series. A restrictor with a small opening is even included in the lines behind the cooler in the stock configuration to limit flow. While the factory oil cooler configuration is ample for stock cars under street conditions, it may not be able to keep oil temperatures acceptable under competitive driving circumstances with engine output increased.
A true FULL FLOW Oil Cooler Setup means 100% of the oil passes through the cooler before being supplied to the engine. Resulting in cooler oil entering your engine, reduced wear on the engine's critical parts (i.e., Turbo chargers, Main Bearings, Cam Shafts), and increased engine life. Considering all the oil being supplied to the engine must pass through the oil cooler system first, a system of this design requires less restrictive larger lines and a higher capacity core than the stock size components, which were engineered for the lower volume parallel configuration.

- 1x Z1 Motorsports Twin Turbo Full Flow Oil Cooler By-Pass Supplement Kit
NA - TT Conversion Note:
With this kit, you will no longer have to search for the many lines and brackets to complete your engine conversion. This will allow for a complete oil cooler system that is both simple to install as well as efficient. By selecting the NA-TT Conversion option, you will receive a hybrid kit with all necessary parts to complete the oil cooler kit installation on your conversion. This kit assumes that you are using a Twin Turbo Block and have a Twin Turbo Oil Filter Tree.
Non-Turbo Version
Finally a clean solution for installing an oil cooler kit on your N/A 300zx! The Non-Turbo version of the Z1 Motorsports Full Flow Oil Cooler Kit is a completely bolt-on kit that mounts the oil cooler core in the factory mounting location used by the Twin Turbo models. By doing this, you are then placing the oil cooler in the main air stream that enters the front fascia. Just like the Twin Turbo version, an added oil cooler will extend the life of the various engine components regardless whether the vehicle is daily driven street or used solely for racing.
The Z1 Motorsports Full Flow Oil Cooler Kit for the Non Turbo includes the following items outside the standard kit:
- 5 Threaded Insert Rivets
- 1 Threaded Rivet Nut Installation Tool
- 4 M6 - 1.00mm Bolts
