Product Description

2011-2015 Nissan Xterra Knock Sensor Service Kit - VQ40DE

Z1 VQ40DE Knock Sensor Service Kit includes everything you need in order to completely service your knock sensors.

Need to fix a P0325 or P0328 on your Nissan Xterra? The Z1 Off-Road Knock sensor sub-harness is the most affordable and common solution for this repair.

Installed below the intake manifold, the knock sensor sub-harness connects the engine harness to the knock sensor. Repeated heat cycles cause wire insulation and connectors to become brittle, breaking down and resulting in poor or no connection to the knock sensor. Additionally, vehicles that are stored for extended periods of time may find the wiring is often damaged by small animals that live under the hood.

The Z1 Knock Sensor Sub Harness features upgraded single core shielded wire which is superior to the original equipment. Featuring a stranded signal core with insulated and spiral wound grounded shield wire it is the same material Z1 has been building knock sensor sub harnesses with since 2011. Harnesses feature OEM connector bodies and terminals for the best quality available. You can trust a Z1 harness as they have been used in applications ranging from daily driver to complete competition engine builds for over a decade.

Commonly associated diagnostic codes:

  • P0325 - Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction - most commonly caused by either a low output voltage from the knock sensor or from a faulty and corroded sub-harness. Sometimes the sensors do fail but the most common issue is the sub-harness. Replacement OEM knock sensors can be found HERE.
  • P0327 - Knock Sensor Circuit Low Input - Most commonly caused by a short in the harness between the sensor and the ECU. What's the most likely solution to this problem? Replace the sub-harness.
  • P0328 - Knock Sensor Circuit High Input - Most commonly caused by a corroded or open circuit between the sensor and ECM.  Again the most common solution is a replacement sub-harness.
