Product Description
Nissan 1217H is a high performance temperature vulcanized (RTV) silicone commonly used as a 'form in place gasket.' It has good elasticity, temperature and chemical resistance when cured. It is highly resistant to oils such as motor oil, transmission fluid or gear oil. It is not recommended for sealing engine coolant.
This is the OEM Nissan Fluid Gasket (RTV) that is found in many of their gasket kits and on your engine from the factory. This easy-to-use tube fits in the common caulk gun making application simple! Use to seal timing covers, transmissions, differentials, and more!

This is some of the best RTV I've ever used. It dries must faster than other brands, so you don't have as much time to work with it. It does however, not need cure time before torqueing, so you can install and torque to spec immediately which is very nice. Make sure you have a caulking gun to use this as it's nearly impossible to use it without one.

Bought this after I planned on replacing the valve cover gaskets seeing as fresh dabs of RTV is recommended. Use sparingly in small controlled amount, less is more

Works great! You can also preserve an open container by plugging the top with a screw and putting it in a ziplock. It was still fresh after a month in my case and will probably last longer.

I'm sure permatex ultra grey seals just as well, but the oem rtv cures faster for shorter turnarounds and has a higher density.

I can honestly say this holds on a lot stronger than Permatex. With Permatex, getting the timing cover back off was relatively easy. With this, it's nearly impossible, but possible! Great stuff!
