The Z1 Off-Road Nissan Titan Cold Air Intake (non-XD) is engineered to outperform the competition, providing class-leading improvements in horsepower and torque.
When we launched Z1 Off-Road in 2019, we brought with us decades of experience in engineering high-performing intake solutions from our Motorsports team. Before we began production of the AIS03 Intake, we surveyed the market to learn what made power, what didn't, and what was missing from nearly all of the premium intakes. We took what we learned and applied it to the second-generation Nissan Titan. The end result was what we feel is the most complete intake system available, packed with features no other intake offers. Unlike other leading intakes on the market, this intake tube utilizes a stock-diameter MAF cross-section to work with no tuning in all environments while maintaining drivability and producing power. This is one of the most important features of the Z1 intake, as we noticed severe driveability problems and frequent check engine lights on trucks with other larger diameter intakes.
THE AIRBOX
We start with a roto-molded air box made from cross-linked polyethylene, engineered to fit our custom-designed dry-media air filter. On the top of the intake box, a large weather-sealed window gives you a clear view of the filter inside. A large rubber grommet is supplied with the airbox to seal the inlet against the inner fender, providing optimal performance in wet and dirty conditions. Additionally, this grommet keeps hot air from the engine bay out of the intake, improving engine performance.
THE FILTER
This intake uses the largest filter ever produced by Z1 with the greatest possible surface area for maximum flow. The dry media Z1 Air Filter was chosen for 2 reasons; unlike conventional oil bath cotton filters there is less of a chance of contaminating the vehicle's Mass Air Flow Sensor, and the filters do not clog as easily in dusty environments.
THE TUBING
Optimizing intake performance means identifying weak points in every part of the intake system. Integrated into the inlet tube is a velocity stack. This is used to maximize airflow by allowing air to enter the intake piping through an unobstructed rounded taper (similar to a trumpet horn.) This results in less intake turbulence, increased volume and increased air velocity, allowing your intake system to work at its maximum potential. The stock couplers and tubing are removed and replaced with a roto-molded polyethylene intake tube, giving air the ability to reach the throttle body with minimum turbulence and interruption. New PCV hoses are included and are manufactured from high-grade silicone material. Included PCV hoses feature an oil-resistant fluorosilicone lining to prevent deterioration or sweating.
THE GAINS
The graph below illustrates average performance gain's that can be expected on a completely stock Titan. The truck below gained 10whp and 9wtq, a great performance increase for a simple bolt-on part!
